Leonid Roshal is ready to treat the boy beaten by power agents in Dagestan in his clinic

Doctor Leonid Roshal, Director of the Moscow Scientific-Research Institute of Emergency Children's Surgery and Traumatology, said that his hospital is ready to take Makhmud Ahmedov, 14, beaten by militiamen in Dagestan, for further treatment. The case about beating the teenager is under supervision of President of Dagestan, the republic's government has reported.

Bomb planted in garbage blows up in Sergokalin District of Dagestan and wounds people

In the evening on August 30, a self-made explosive device was triggered in a suburb of Verkhneye Makhargi village, Sergokalin District, which was placed in a heap of garbage. This was reported by a source in the local MIA.

In Dagestan, militiaman suspected of beating teenager asks to make his parents criminally responsible

Magomed Magomedov, a district inspector of the Shamil ROVD (District Interior Division) of Dagestan has addressed the magistrate judge of judicial constituency No. 93, Shamil District of Dagestan, claiming to bring the parents of Makhmud Ahmedov, 14, who was beaten by militiamen, to criminal liability.

Dagestan: followers of Turkish scholar complain of power agents' pressure

Ibragim Mutrazaliev, a resident of Makhachkala and a follower of the Turkish scholar Said Nursi, whose written works were forbidden in Russia by the court in 2007, said that he was summoned to the Department of the Russian FSB for Dagestan, where he was asked to evidence against another Said Nursi's follower - Ziyavdin Dapaev. The latter, against whom a criminal case was opened under the article of the Russian Criminal Code dealing with "organizing the activity of an extremist organization", told about pressure on his relatives.

Dagestan law enforcers assert that kidnapped Abdurakhmanov is among militants

The missing Abdurakhman Abdurakhmanov, son of Shamil Abdurakhmanov, a federal judge of the Leninskiy District of Makhachkala, was recruited by members of the extremist underground and was a member of the grouping engaged in purchase and delivery to militants of regimentals, appliances, components for producing self-made explosive devices. This was stated by the united press centre of law enforcement bodies of Dagestan.

Advocate of kidnapped resident of Dagestan refutes his client's surrender

Magomed Guchuchaliev, advocate of Timur (Suleiman) Kurbanmagomedov, who disappeared on August 20 in Makhachkala, reports that the MIA of Dagestan is misinforming the public by stating that his client voluntarily surrendered on August 28. According to the advocate, Kurbanmagomedov was kidnapped and tortured by power agents.

Dagestan: unidentified persons shell civilians and kill two

Human rights organizations raise money for treatment of the teenager beaten by militiamen in Dagestan

The Human Rights Centre (HRC) "Memorial" and the "Civil Assistance" Committee are organizing a free-of-charge hospitalization of Makhmud Ahmedov, 14, who partially lost hearing after beating by militiamen in Dagestan, and his mother Aishat Guseinova in Moscow clinics. The "Civil Assistance" Committee has opened an account for donations aimed to treat the child.
